The Position
The MEP Coordinator will be responsible for the overall MEP integration of the design team, specialist subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure a successful project delivery.
Key duties include reviewing design documents, coordinating installation schedules, managing subcontractors, and ensuring strict adherence to building codes and project specifications.
Qualifications/Work Experience
- Relevant Degree
- 5 or more years expertise in construction and working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing
- Experience in commercial and residential projects
- Proven experience in managing MEP
- Proven experience managing subcontractors
Required Skills and Attributes
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft programmes
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of construction processes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering
- Good knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability
- Attention to detail
- Have good organisational and leadership skills.
- Be able to direct and monitor subcontractor performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MEP design review of the subcontractor designed MEP packages.
- Planning and co-ordination of all offsite and onsite MEP activities.
- Co-ordinate and supervise the works of the MEP subcontractor to ensure that the installation is compliant with specification and documentation.
Key Responsibilities cont.
- Manage the safety and quality performance of the MEP subcontractor.
- Monitor and record the progress of works, working collaboratively with the MEP subcontractor to deliver to programme requirements.
- Liaison with the client’s project manager and client’s MEP consultant in respect of MEP installations.
- Liaison with local utilities authorities.
- Co-ordinate consultant inspections including 3rd party MEP consultant inspections.
- Represent the contractor at co-ordination meetings between contractor, MEP subcontractor and MEP consultant.
- Short term programming of MEP installation with MEP subcontractor (weekly co-ordination meetings).
- Lead monthly progress meetings with MEP subcontractor.
- Co-ordinate testing & commissioning activities.
- Other duties as required by the project manager and site engineer from time to time
