Rihoy & Son worked closely with the Guernsey Housing Association and the Housing Department to complete the housing development at Rue Jamouneau.
Over a period of 18 months Rihoy & Son built 80 new properties which completed the final phase of regeneration of the old social housing estates in the Bouet. The development accommodates a broad selection of residents, with 54 rental properties and 26 built for partial ownership.
A mix of dwellings makes up the development, including single-bedroom flats, bungalows and four-bedroomed houses. All the properties were designed to ‘lifetime home’ standards with energy efficient heat recovery units, solar panel installation and airtight construction.
The development incorporates outdoor space to encourage community activity and residents have responded very positively to the whole redevelopment.
Rihoy & Son was involved in the redevelopment of the old Bouet housing estates from the beginning of the project. The previous phase, also built by Rihoy & Son, was recently shortlisted in the Guernsey Design Awards 2014 for the People’s Choice Award.
The development is fully occupied.
