Hands-on site experience

Work alongside experienced groundworkers on active construction sites, supporting essential groundwork activities that prepare sites for buildings and infrastructure.

Practical skills development

Gain real-world experience in excavation, drainage installation, foundations, concreting, and paving works while developing essential construction skills. Successful apprentices may progress into roles such as:

  • Skilled Groundworker
  • Drainage or Concreting Specialist
  • Team Leader or Site Foreman
  • Plant Operator with further training

Mentorship

Work closely with experienced professionals who will provide guidance, support, and practical training throughout your apprenticeship.

Learning and development opportunities

  • Excavation and ground preparation
  • Drainage installation and water management systems
  • Foundations and structural groundwork
  • Concreting including sub-bases, shuttering, and reinforcement
  • Paving and kerbing installation
  • Safe use of tools and site equipment
